Young Reseacher Committee

At the heart of the European Zebrafish Society (EZS) lies the Young Researcher Committee (YoRC), established in 2021. Comprising early-career zebrafish researchers, our committee is dedicated to empowering and supporting early-career scientists within the EZS and worldwide zebrafish community.

What drives us?

Connection

We strive to foster connections among students, postdocs, and early-career professionals, bridging gaps between academia, industry, and the broader scientific community.

Engagement

Our mission is to actively involve members in the EZS, providing a platform to share ideas, insights, and visions for the future of zebrafish research.

Opportunity

We aim to maximize the benefits of EZS membership for early-career researchers, enabling them to make the most out of their scientific journey.

What do we do?

  • Symposia: Organize symposia tailored for students, postdocs, and early-career professionals at national and international conferences like the European Zebrafish Meetings and International Zebrafish Meetings.
  • Collaboration: Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among members across biological sciences, fostering innovative research approaches.
  • International Relations: Cultivate relationships with zebrafish and aquatic models societies globally, facilitating resource sharing and collaboration opportunities for fellow early-career researchers.
  • Conference Presence: Attend conferences to raise awareness of EZS initiatives, showcasing the benefits of membership and opportunities within the committee.
  • Industry Partnerships: Establish networks with zebrafish-related industries to provide career support and guidance for students, postdocs, and early-career professionals.
  • Communication: Disseminate information about committee activities through email, the EZS website, and our social media channels, ensuring members stay informed and engaged.
  • Flexibility: We remain open to suggestions and actively seek input from our community to continually improve and tailor our initiatives to meet evolving needs.
