FREE ONLINE SEMINAR

Duration: 60 Minutes

Summary

Biological techniques such as in situ hybridization (ISH) and those used in immunohistochemistry (IHC) are time-consuming with many liquid handling steps that put samples at risk for pipetting errors or contamination. However, these protocols are necessary to visualize key genetic or molecular structures and their expression.

This webinar will introduce a fully automated approach for ISH and IHC that eliminates the above experimental errors and accelerates sample processing speed. All preparatory steps from rehydration to antibody detection can be performed with microliter precision of liquid addition and novel methods for removal and addition of buffer solutions; this is applied to both whole mount/vibratomes and sections on slides in a high-throughput process.

Any biologist or biochemist researching the genome or genetic expression will benefit from viewing this presentation.

What You’ll Learn

  • Improve the reproducibility of sample preparation for in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry
  • Work more efficiently, increasing research throughput
  • Superior results from reduced RNAse contamination

A special highlight: During this online seminar, Dr. Martin Technau shows the devices live in action.

LEARN MORE

In the light of the current sanitary emergency caused by COVID-19, the 3° Zebrafish Italian Meeting (3° ZFIM), scheduled to take place in Napoli on February 4th and 5th, will be postponed on February 2022.

The decision to postpone the ZFIM was consequently taken in consideration of the updated official regulations, as well as the uncertainties afflicting the entire travel and hospitality at the moment.

The Scientific Committee, alongside with the Organizing Committee, has therefore decided to keep the dates originally planned and instead hold two webinars. The webinars will ensure that young and senior scientists of the Italian and International Zebrafish community share their scientific experience and learn about latest research and cutting-edge research tools and technologies. The scheduled webinars will take place on February 4th and 11th, dedicated to junior and senior speakers respectively.

 Virtual Meeting October 26 - 27, 2020
Since the situation of COVID-19 has been still evolving and the uncertainty around international travel restrictions and social distancing measures, the ZEBRAFISH 2020 Organizing Committee, alongside with the Scientific Committee, has made the final decision to bring the ZEBRAFISH Meeting to safe grounds and offer you to experience the first ZEBRAFISH VIRTUAL MEETING. The programme is condensed in two days to encourage everyone to be fully present throughout the day. We have taken time zone differences into account to allow a maximum of participants, from around the world, to present. Virtual ZEBRAFISH Meeting 2020 will include posters and oral sessions, and coffee breaks where you will be able to chat with friends and colleagues, exchange ideas, initiate collaborations, and get useful feedback on your research and also to be in contact with exhibitors and main sponsors and see their products presentations.

We hope to meet you, by text ‘chat’, by sound, or by video, from anywhere in the world on Monday and Tuesday 26th and 27th October 2020.

Zebrafish Models for

Human Eye Diseases

In ophthalmology, clinician scientists may be unaware of the many possibilities provided by zebrafish models. On the other hand zebrafish researchers may be unexposed to pressing clinical research questions. The aim of the meeting is to bring researchers using the zebrafish model closer to the medical community. At the same time, the meeting shall introduce the virtues of the zebrafish model to clinical researchers. Keynote lectures will cover various aspects of zebrafish eye research. This will be complemented by presentations addressing research on human eye diseases with high clinicial relevance. In addition, short talks and poster presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts of meeting participants.
