Plexx has been a supplier to the life science industry for oer 30 years. Since 2019 we are the European Distributor for Iwaki Aquatic Systems and we have started supply, installation and service of aquatic housing systems. We offer bench top systems, full size stand alone systems and multi-rack systems with central life support. At the heart of these systems our newly designed 2L, 4.5L and 9L tanks that only consist of 3 parts and thus are very easy to clean and maintain. The industrial grade system control monitors, that are also used in industrial water applications, are easy to use with a big display and touch screen and remote control via a free webbased and multilingual software interface. The Iwaki system pumps with variable frequency drive maintain precise flow independent from filter loads and the Iwaki metering pumps precisely and automatically dose bicarb and salt solutions into the stream to maintain proper pH and conductivity levels.


Plexx is expanding it’s aquatic portfolio with exciting products such as the Waterlink Spintouch FX analyser from LaMotte that will measure nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, alkalinity, ammonia hardness, and pH in just 2 minutes using a water sample of just 3ml, giving accurate and reliable results. Salt water analysis is also available, and for a more economical solution we can also supply simple 5 way test strips.


We also represent Idea Biomedical with their Athena Zebrafish imaging software – the next generation in Zebrafish assays. Situated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, Bionomous is a start-up developing and commercializing devices to automate processes in biology and biotechnology.


We combine innovative micro-engineering design and machine learning methods to develop devices that automatically screen, count, sort and dispense miniature biological entities.

 

Our technology is specialized in sorting zebrafish (Danio rerio) eggs. The EggSorter grabs each egg individually, analyses it and dispenses it in Falcon tubes, Petri dishes and Multiwell plates. We use Deep Learning to customize our algorithm and sort the eggs based on the needs of our clients: fertilised/unfertilised, healthy/malformed or presence/absence of other biological markers.

 

Our aim is to bring automation to the laboratories to accelerate research in fields such as genetics, toxicology, development, behavioral biology, and non-clinical studies.

Automated In Situ Hybridization and Immunohistochemistry System
ISH and IHC Automation for Whole Mounts and Slides

With the InsituPro system CEM continues the previous Intavis InsituPro product line, which is well established since more than 20 years as a dedicated system for fully automated in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. The robot accomplishes all of the tedious and repetitive washing and incubation steps for various ISH and IHC methods and related staining techniques under precisely controlled and highly reproducible conditions.

The instrument can process of whole mount samples, vibratome sections, thin sections on slides, and cells on coverslips. The flexible, modular setup allows easy switching from one application to another in only minutes.
Up to 60 whole mounts/vibratome sections or slides can be processed in parallel with individual probes or antibodies allowing partial recovery of expensive antibodies and probes.

The open system runs with standard lab buffers - allowing the adaption of any manual protocol without additional running costs. The InsituPro is tested with all important model organisms and already used by many labs worldwide working on zebrafish or various other fish species (e.g. Medaka).
